The last of the fluff balls!
I think these are the last of the fluff balls for this year.
The picture above and the one below were taken at the start of June.
The two below were taken a week later and I think you can see a big difference.
The fluffiness has sleeked out and there seems to be a more knowing look in their eyes.
Kids these days, they're just growing up too fast!

Camouflage
Illustration Friday "Camouflage"
This is my cat, Monkey, rolling in the grass trying to cool off.
He also loved to roll in the dust on hot days, is that a sunscreen thing, do you think?
I painted Monkey in watercolour and then did my usual photoshoping for the background.
It's a bit heavy handed but I'm quite heavy hearted as my darling Monkey was killed on the road last Thursday night. His black coat was too good a camouflage for the night.
But you know he had the best of both worlds.
During the day he was my loving snuggle puss, eating, snoozing and cuddling, a total slob .
But come the night he was Casanova stealth cat, out and about chasing the ladies.
He was one of the gang and is missed dreadfully.

Illustration Friday "Rejection"
Stanley couldn't contemplate the idea of rejection, as he proudly displayed his beautiful blue feet in the traditional mating dance of the blue footed Boobies.

The Emperor's new clothes
Illustration Friday's topic this week is "suit"
As you can see , I've illustrated the Emperor in his birthday suit, wondering if his new clothes make his bum look big, it's not just us girls that worry about big bums you know.
I started this piece in watercolour and finished it in photoshop, mainly putting in a background colour.

TED Talks: spreading ideas
TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds. Since then its scope has become ever broader.
This particular Ted talk is about how the education system is
killing creativity. Sir Ken Robinson is highly entertaining, a natural comedian with a very important point.

Salvador Dali, the leading man, on Whats My Line
I found this via bifsniff and loved it.
I'm not a huge fan of Salvador Dali's work, most of it creeps me out especially the ones with the long stretched skinny legs, but the man himself is a true work of art with a brilliant sense of humor!
I found some great quotes of his here
A few examples:
"Have no fear of perfection, you'll never reach it."
"There's only one difference between a mad man and me. I am not mad"
" There are some days when I think I'm going to die from an overdose of satisfaction"
"Do not strive to be a modern artist: it's the one thing unfortunately you cant help being"
And my favourite
"Each morning when I awake I experience again a supreme pleasure - that of being Salvador Dali"

Beautiful Baby Blue Tits
I'm having great fun watching the antics of these little beauties.
They sit around like fluffy pom-poms,well soggy pom-poms today with the rain, pip squeaking at each other until a parent flies in and then they frantically flutter their wings and demand loudly "ME,ME,FEED ME"
I really feel sorry for the parents, it's non stop for them.
The babies are so fluffy and plump, and here's poor Mom looking very bedraggled in the rain.
