Camouflage

Illustration Friday "Camouflage"
This is my cat, Monkey, rolling in the grass trying to cool off.
He also loved to roll in the dust on hot days, is that a sunscreen thing, do you think?
I painted Monkey in watercolour and then did my usual photoshoping for the background.
It's a bit heavy handed but I'm quite heavy hearted as my darling Monkey was killed on the road last Thursday night. His black coat was too good a camouflage for the night.
But you know he had the best of both worlds.
During the day he was my loving snuggle puss, eating, snoozing and cuddling, a total slob .
But come the night he was Casanova stealth cat, out and about chasing the ladies.
He was one of the gang and is missed dreadfully.

Janie, that's AWFUL news about Monkey - so sad. It's losing one of the family, isn't it?

I'm glad you've done something to celebrate him and let the world know about him, though. This is a very striking piece, too!

Thank you everybody for being so kind.
Cathy, that's exactly right.
We discovered that because monkey was all black, he didn't feature well in photographs, so this piece will be printed and framed and hung in his honor.
